It is International Nurses Day.

International Nurses Day is celebrated on the birthday of British nurse Florence Nightingale to commemorate the contributions of nurses to society on May 12th.

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) has announced the theme for International Nurses Day (IND) 2023: "Our Nurses. Our Future." ICN President, Dr. Pamela Cipriano, explained that the theme sets out what ICN wants for the future of nursing to address global health challenges and improve global health for all. We need to learn from the lessons of the pandemic and translate them into actions for the future that ensure nurses are protected, respected, and valued.
